Tan Coffee – Connaught Place

New Delhi

Explore
A material-led contemporary café that pairs grey plaster, patterned tiles and thatch with oak, cane and banquette seating for a calm, brand-quiet space.

This café interior is organised as a long, daylit room with a clear centre aisle, window tables on one side and banquette seating along a textured brick wall on the other. Grey plaster walls and dark patterned floor tiles keep the envelope quiet, while light oak tables, cane-back chairs and walnut-toned built-in benches add warmth. A thatch fringe along the ceiling beams softens the exposed services — cassette ACs, a projector and black pendants — without hiding them.

Service is built into the plan rather than added on top of it. A high counter with stools sits against the back wall, a glass pastry fridge anchors the entry, and numbered table cubes keep circulation simple. Lighting mixes tall windows with black pendants and wall sconces so the room stays even from morning to evening. Branding is limited to a wall line and a small mark on the display case, so the project reads as a materials-and-layout interior first.
